Polaroid quilt blocks are called that because they look like old-time Polaroid photos. They have a center piece of fabric that has been fussy cut, and are surrounded by a white border that is larger on the bottom than on the sides.
WHAT WAS THE POLAROID QUILT BLOCKS CONTEST ABOUT?
Participants in the 2017-2018 Polaroid Blocks Contest were able to contribute Polaroid blocks to a pool in order to win a "lot" of Polaroid quilt blocks.
Prior to the June EMQG meeting, participating members made as many Polaroid blocks as they wished. They brought the Polaroid blocks they made to the June meeting for submission. For each Polaroid block they made and brought to the June meeting, they got a ticket. So if they made 6 blocks, they got 6 tickets, etc. At the June meeting, we drew a ticket, and one lucky member was the winner of all the blocks that were submitted!
