Our charities for 2018-19 helped the young and the young-at-heart!
1. BASICALLY BABIES
2. WHEELCHAIR LAP QUILTS
Basically Babies is a registered charity that provides basic outfitting needs for newborn babies born to families in extreme need in the greater Edmonton area. They offer the gift of a complete
first year’s wardrobe and supplies for infants in the form of a beautiful colour-coordinated basket
layered with clothing, outerwear, blankets, toys, storybooks, sleepers, undershirts, footwear, and
other baby essentials. They call these packaged gifts “layettes”.
The layettes are delivered to the recipient families through a network of charitable organizations,
non-profit groups, social service agencies, and health-care agencies.
Basically Babies appreciates baby-sized quilts that are Turquoise, Red, Navy, Grey, Lime, Purple, and Bright Yellow in colour.
Older adults have lived full and busy lives contributing to families, careers, and communities, all the while acting as guardians of traditions. After all that action, life in a nursing home or assisted living facility can feel lonely, especially if people don’t have as much contact with family as they would like.
The EMQG is pleased to offer wheelchair quilts to those in need in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Wrapping people up in wheelchair quilts provides them with a feeling of warmth and comfort. We make our quilts with love, and we LOVE to see the smiles they produce!
Carolyn DiPerri (owner) has allowed us to use her pattern for charity projects. NOT to be used for resale.
